Bike
Comments: Started middle of the pack for first 20+ miles. Felt good but kept getting caught in the yo-yo effect. Decided to work my way up front, made it into the first 15 riders for the next 15+ miles. Pace was MUCH more even and steady up front, last until we turned into the wind! Thought I had a parachute attached! From that point on I was in small groups or by myself. Just for the record, I HATE THE WIND!!! What would you do differently?: Not much other than more training. 40 miles further than I have ever ridden. Post race
Warm down: Almost hit a lady at the finish, after that, just found a rack, some beverages and food and some SHADE! What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training, non-aerodynamic body and the WIND! Event comments: May do one of their shorter distances next year but no desire to ever ride 100 miles in a single day ever again. Last updated: 2012-02-27 12:00 AM

Normal PB/Nutella & toast with milk and Men's 1-a-Day and 2 Aleve. Got to check in with plenty of time to spare. No rush.
Figured with 100 miles to ride, I would get warmed up somewhere along the ride.
