Bike
Post race
Warm down: Coasted back down the hill and back to the high school parking lot, which was about 8 miles away from the finish line. Stretched a little, hydrated more, changed clothes, and headed home. What limited your ability to perform faster: This was my first hill climb TT, ever, so I approached it with an open mind. Basically, I entered because I enjoy climbing hills on my bike and this simply sounded like a lot of fun and something different, and it proved to be a blast. I'll be back next year for sure. I tend to be the type of person who enjoys the challenge of not knowing what lies ahead on a course, so in some respects I felt in my element in this TT. Although I do a lot of hill climbing during my regular rides, I haven't trained for going all-out on a hill (i.e. "Wow, this really hurts - what the hell was I thinking?). So, by the time I reached the finish line, I was feeling a little queasy, like I could puke. Lovely. So, I'd say that if my training were geared more specifically toward TTing, I would have performed much better. All things considered, I'm happy. Looking forward to my next hill climb in Sept. Event comments: 1st year that the C4 group has hosted this race. Nice event. Last updated: 2006-05-22 12:00 AM
