Pre-race routine:

I drove myself up and got everything squared away with my transistion. I ate a bowl of cereal, a cliff bar, and a few bananas.

It went pretty good, I'm really bad at swimming. This was my first race with a wetsuit and it helped tremendously. I started on the outside and after a while a kayak appeared in front of me. I was trying to swim to carolina. I got turned around and kicked one more time, but other than that it was a fun swim.
What would you do differently?:

Sight better. Get goggles that don't fog as much

I started off good. I probably should have eaten a gu, but I didn't. About mile 9-10 I started struggling. I had to walk a little about mile 10, and I went to the bathroom once. I also stopped to talk to my wife and kids about mile 12.
What would you do differently?:

More long runs in training.

Warm down:

I got my pizza and fruit and took pictures with my wife and kids. My oldest boy ate most of the food.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enough long bike/runs in training.

Event comments:

I had a great time, this was my first HIM and it was a blast. Hopefully I'll be back next year.
