Run
Comments: The run felt pretty good. It didn't get really hard until the last mile. I only ate 1/2 of a 190 calorie trail mix bar at 55 minutes, and the other half at 80 minutes. I did have probably 12 ounces of gatorade the last 40 minutes (probably 100 calories). I drank about 12 ounces of water every two miles, and had just a touch of stomach problems for a mile or two. I was very happy with my pacing, and was glad I forced myself to go slower at the beginning. My pace actually got a little faster, but I had to work much harder at the end to maintain it. I only ran two miles during the week because I was sick for the first 3 days of the week, then my left ankle became very sore for no reason. I still didn't feel 100% for the race, but not bad. I passed 32 people after the first 2 miles, and only got passed once, but repassed that guy. What would you do differently?: Nothing. I was prepared because of a long run up to 14 miles, and doing up to 10 800 meter repeats. i was logged in a nice chunk of 5 to 6 mile race pace runs. Post race
Warm down: None. I was tired What limited your ability to perform faster: Only two miles of running the week before the race, and lingering effects of a cold, and stiff ankle. Event comments: The race was a nice smaller venu race on a really cool pathway. It was a great race to try and get under two hours. Last updated: 2012-11-06 12:00 AM

I got up at 5 a.m, got on the computer and generally woke up for a few minutes. I ate a protein bar and some chocolate puffy cereal, had some water and a diet coke. I got my running stuff on, got the Ipad, heart rate monitor, and ibuprofen packed and headed to Elyria for the 40 minute trip. I got registered, went back to the car for a few minutes, and then boarded a school bus for a 20 minute ride to the beginning of the trail.
HaHa. It's a half marathon
