Swim
Comments: Started out in pool with 20 seconds to get ready. Felt rushed and wasn't mentally ready. Should have waited for the next minute start but wanted to get going. What would you do differently?: Wait for the next minute start, and mentally prepare. Also, start the Garmin. Transition 1
Comments: Got to bike rack and bike was gone. My rear tire blew hanging on the rack. Someone heard it and they were swapping the tube when I got there. Really rattled me mentally, especially after a terrible swim. Bike
Comments: Blew rear tube 1.5 miles into the ride. Bike support happened to be right there and assisted with the change. Probably lost 7-8 minutes. Transition 2
Comments: Smooth, but could have been faster. Run
Comments: Felt good the whole time, thanks to lots of bricks. Started at 9:50 mm pace for first mile, then 9:20 second, and 8:30 for third. What would you do differently?: Push harder earlier Post race
Warm down: Cheer on others at finish line. What limited your ability to perform faster: Very little swim time and a flat on the bike. Event comments: It was a great early race. I was in the fitness division on Sunday because of my schedule, but it was great. Nothing really going on after the race except cheering for the rest of the competitors. I'll definitely do it again.
