Comments:

The crowds for the first 2 miles were horrendous. I was a minute behind pace. First 8 miles, were all packed until half marathoners broke off. Paced well after that. The hills of the highlands from mile 21-24 were tough and really slowed me down.
What would you do differently?:

I need to do more hills before my next race. Nagging injuries held me back from doing enough.
Post race
Warm down:

Active stretches about 2-3 minutes after finishing. Then walked around and waited for Michael.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Genetics. Crowds. Not well prepared for hills.

Event comments:

Good race. I much prefer this "new" route to the 2010 route. Most of the race was scenic. Downtown, UofL campus, Old Louisville, Churchill Downs, and the Highlands were all enjoyable with interesting architecture and landscaping. The hilly 3 miles through Iroquois Park are pleant in spring. A couple of small patches of the route were run down, but not much. Crowd support was good, especially at the start, finish and through UofL.
