Event warmup:

light running and run drills, easy swim.
Swim
  • 17h 02m
  • 700 meters
  • 2h 26m / 100 meters
Comments:

Good swim. Was very happy. Water was perfect, not too crowded, big spread between top end and bottom of age group so lots of room. One guy was literally pulling at my toes for 100M-200M but otherwise no contact.
What would you do differently?:

Be more aggressive at the start, most Tris have stronger fields so I intentionally wait a few seconds to let the crowd go... ended up letting the group go ahead but then had to swim slow and dodge left to get around some weak swimmers... had I just gone would have been faster to the first buoy and not had to deal with traffic.
Transition 1
  • 03m 28s
Comments:

Forgot my bib belt and realized that it was tangled on my gear as I was about to mount my bike so lost a few seconds.
What would you do differently?:

Not been so stupid with the bib belt...
Bike
  • 39h 48m
  • 20 kms
  • 0.50 km/hr
Comments:

Great ride, need to go faster.
What would you do differently?:

Go faster! Better/faster in the turns.
Transition 2
  • 01m 3s
Comments:

Good T2
What would you do differently?:

Good T2, not much would change.
Run
  • 24h 58m
  • 5 kms
  • 4h 59m 36s  min/km
Comments:

Great run!
What would you do differently?:

Better pacing
Post race
Warm down:

ran out the last of the 5km, cold water, stretch, food.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Poor swim technique.

Event comments:

Really is a great race. The entire organization should be proud. Only downfall would be that someone should tell racers to announce they are passing on the left and ONLY pass on the left... saw a lot of drafting, passing on the right and passing without warning.
