Swim
Comments: Thought I had a better so I'm going, but I really didn't press it. Made up some ground on the back, but there was a lot of contact in this race for some reason. My goal was to have a decent swim, and really work on the bike. What would you do differently?: Swim harder Transition 1
Comments: There was a wetsuit stripper and I utilized that. My suit still got stuck on my heels, but not bad - they got me out of there pretty quickly. Long transition run back to the bikes. What would you do differently?: Not much here Bike
Comments: Would've loved to been faster, but this was a good bike ride for me. Between the crowds and the turns, this was a good effort on the bike for me. First lap was faster by five minutes, but that's okay. Glad I ditched my Gatorade at the second lap aid station. Switched to water and that was needed I really thought this was a true Olympic distance triathlon. I was expecting the bike to be 24 miles or even 24.8. It surprised me that we had to go 28th. Certainly changed the time I expected to finish What would you do differently?: Pedal faster? I'm happy with this bike split Maybe attend a prerace meeting and find out that the bike course is longer than you thought? Transition 2
Comments: Took a little more time than probably necessary, but I was feeling good and wanted to get off on a good run start. I realized I didn't tie one of my shoes very well and I had to stop during the first 2 miles in retie. What would you do differently?: Always love to be faster, but this is a pretty good run too Run
Comments: First mile split with sub eight, four of the next five were right around 820. I really fell off during mile five (840), but it was hot and I was really tired. What would you do differently?: Nothing. I'm pretty happy with this Post race
Warm down: Look for my wife and kids, but they weren't able to make it in the race(I don't blame them, Tempe is crazy during races like this). Went to the ONE multisport for a slice of pizza and a beer. Saw a few other friends finish, and waited for transition to open up. Grabbed my gear and headed home What limited your ability to perform faster: I do need to focus on more swim speed work. Run and bike are coming along nicely. Very good progress report as I get ready for the Vineman 70.3 Event comments: Lifetime tri always puts on a good event and this is no exception. Last updated: 2013-12-08 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4:45, 15 minutes before my alarm was set. With the race not starting until 8 o'clock, felt like I had plenty of time to get everything done, eat, etc. had 2 cups of coffee, some oatmeal and some water. Left the house around 6 o'clock and headed to Tempe
My bike was already in transition, but I headed in with the rest of my gear. Immediately ran into Brian (bhannahs) and had a nice chat. Set up my transition and then got ready to go. Saw a few others too - travis, Lisa, Dean and Kim, Patrick, ...good to see lots of BT folks there.
