Pre-race routine:

arrived with kristin. she was a huge source of support and encouragement. unloaded. grabbed race kit. racked bike. body marked. timing chip. swim cap. laid out gear. wandered and talked to others. observed transition area ins and outs and swim ins and outs. watched 1/2 iron start.
Event warmup:

light warm up. stretch. chat. slight warm up in water. make sure did not touch feet to bottom because of zebra mussels.

i suck at swimming!!!

maybe get a better bathing suit and learn to swim!!!! more time in the water for next race.

new to the sport. not sure what to expect during the race. unsure how hard i could push it.

Event comments:

minus the zebra mussels. would have worn water shoes if i had known about zebra mussels. otherwise, great fun.

Course: Flat. became overcast just as i racked my bike!!! the god's were smiling on me after that swim. i took it easy on the run. i had more in the tank but was conservative!
