What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Good clean swim, minimal contact. I did run over a guy at a buoy, sorry dude :) drafted for a bit of the race for the first time ever.

This is where I was disappointed. All the places I lost occurred on the technical parts of the course. My non-suspension 26"er just can't compete with 29"s and suspension. I was 12 on the swim, 10 on the run, and 27 on the bike. It was frustrating having to pull over on the rough stuff to let people by. If I do this race again I will have a better bike.

Modern 29er for this course.

Great venue and concept. Last years race was great. This year was poorly organized and executed. No shirt or beer mug, and the website was saying there would be a mug (website was not updated from last year) course was changed less than two weeks before the race, fostered mass confusion on swim and bike.

I will do this race again only if the website is updated for 2015 before the first price hike

Course: Fun course. Actually ran the bottom 25% of the "groin" hiked the rest of it. On a flat course it would have been an easy 7:15-7:30 pace.
