Pre-race routine:

Got up at 4:00 am, ate a bagel with peanut butter, and drank a cup of coffee. Lots of water.
Event warmup:

Jogged and stretched. Took a dip in the lake and swam about 100 yards.

Comments:

Felt comfortable in the water, but only breathed on my left side. I normally breath bilaterally in the pool. The wet suit certainly helped with buoyancy.
What would you do differently?:

More open water, distance swims are needed.

Out and back turnaround ride. Good terrain, but the last set of hills killed my legs for the run.

Practice more hilly rides.

The rolling hills killed my legs. Had to stop a couple of times and walk, which is unusual.
What would you do differently?:

Practice more bike/run bricks with more hills. Also, need to do some speed work to build strength.
Post race
Warm down:

Took off wet shirt and put on the dry race shirt and a jacket to stay warm. Walked around and stretched.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of bike/run bricks to prepare my legs for the run. I had absolutely no leg strength. Also, I may have needed fueling, but not really sure. Probably will start training with fuels, too.
