Pre-race routine:

Parked at Barton Springs and jogged the mile and half or so to the race with Kim. We were in the last group, but as we walked up, the gates were open and we just ran without even realizing it. 5' after gun time, but already like 4k people on course (with 15k behind us!). What an awesome scene this race is!
Event warmup:

Ran in from where we parked. Bonus, avoids parking at the event center and dealing with traffic. Nice cool down walk back afterwards, to boot.

Comments:

Ran with Kim and sherpa'd water and such to her. Despite not "racing" this one, I was pretty close to beat when we finished! Time was about FOURTEEN minutes slower than last year... Big difference (but this one was way more fun, cuz Kim was there and we both had ZERO expectations... just a fun run together through the city and a beer after). <3 Kim and Austin...
What would you do differently?:

Nothing... Except maybe not eat the breakfast taco in the beer garden after that had a "Tuesday" sticker on it. Thought that might have been when that item was on the truck's menu, but I now think it meant when the taco was made... This race was on a Sunday. The following 20 hours were, well, explosive at times...
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around the party-like zoo atmosphere of such a huge race's post-race festivities. Got a beer or two. A tainted taco or two. Just had fun soaking in race day stuff!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lots of time off.

Event comments:

Such an awesome venue, going right through Austin. Really nice. And with something like 20k people, it was a PARTY after! Glad I got to spend the morning with Kim (and the rest of Austin).
