Comments: I never really got into a good rhythm What would you do differently?: warm-up longer before, start slower and worry more about my stroke instead of where everyone else is Transition 1
Comments: struggled a little clipping in What would you do differently?: just practice this...I really don't practice transitions at all and I should Bike
Comments: The 45 minutes on the side of the road hurt! Thank-you to the kind cyclist who helped me change my tire. Other than that I had a great ride...up until that point, I felt strong and was just building up speed for the second half of the ride. What would you do differently?: practice changing a flat, carry a spare tube, get new tires! Transition 2
Comments: I was still a little disheartened from the flat. Then Dexter asked me how my race was, and I had to tell him I wasn't finished yet...I could have had a full blown tea party with Dexter...I probablt would have run faster after... Run
Comments: I did try and keep my pace up, but I had a hard time. Seeing Mike midway through his last lap helped. I stopped and had another tea party at an aid station. Cheered on a few people, slowly drank a full cup of water, then decided I should probably get this race behind me... What would you do differently?: Try and do the whole race without a 45 minute break in the middle. Take a gel before the run. Post race
Warm down: Didn't really need too much of one Event comments: It took the guys on the motorcycle 30 minutes before they came and asked if I was injured. They drove by me twice before they stopped even though I was trying to wave them down (I knew I didn't have a tube and didn't really want to stop another racer for one). Good thing I wasn't hurt. The volunteer who did come with a van eventually was incredibly nice. Last updated: 2006-09-11 12:00 AM
