Stretched out and jogged to get loosened up.
Swim
  • 05m 33s
  • 300 yards
  • 01m 51s / 100 yards
Comments:

Since this was a reverse triathlon this was my last section, and I was really surprised at my how much my ability has improved in over the last six months. Before getting in the water I had really been pushing myself, and starting out I felt that I had a lot left in me.
What would you do differently?:

I would learn how to get around people better. My first 100 was slowed down because a guy was in front of me and I couldn't get around him.
Transition 1
  • 01m 34s
Comments:

This was actually my transition from run to bike, and I was very happy at my decreased time in transition.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Bike
  • 42m 26s
  • 13 miles
  • 18.38 mile/hr
Comments:

I knew that going out I would be in a headwind, but when I got out of the neighborhoods and turned South I remembered what a true headwind was. The gusts were probably 25-35mph, and I was really happy that I was averaging 12-15mph. Then after making the turnaround I was able to sustain 26-30mph. Even with wind that is the fastest that I have sustained for a long period of time. It felt great!!!
What would you do differently?:

Nothing!
Transition 2
  • 01m 13s
Comments:

This was actually the transition from bike to swim, and I was very happy with my turnaround time.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing!
Run
  • 32m 10s
  • 3.5 miles
  • 09m 11s  min/mile
Comments:

I was really nervous about this part since I have been nursing a foot injury for a while and not to mention all of my allergies for the last month. I started off pacing myself with my neighbor (who was racing too) and neither of us really intended to run the whole thing, but we just kept it steady and finished. It really felt great. Especially, after finding out that we had ran farther than either of us had before.
What would you do differently?:

Pay attention to the street markings and not be a follower.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around talking with folks and drinking water. Couldn't find anyoner with beer. Damn health nuts!!!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing I had fun and went as fast as I could.

Event comments:

This ws a very fun race and it was really nice to get the run out of the way at the first. I will definetly keep this on my list of races for next year.
