Comments:

Fastest 10k I have run yet. Shaved a minute off my previous best. The time above is the chip time. The gun time was a second slower. A really good run for me. Did not go out too fast. First mile was around 6:45 as was the second. At the halfway point (yes they painted that on the road) I was at 21:10. Obviously I slowed down the second half a little bit. Did not get water at any of the stops. I think because it was so cool, that I didn't need any. The last 2 miles or so was into the wind and the last mile was weaving through downtown, so no good straight aways. Caught 2 people during the race and really the only people who passed me were in the starting group I was with.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing really. Well, maybe kick in a little further from the finish line.
Post race
Warm down:

stretched while waiting for some friends from Kinston to finish. Had to leave pretty quickly to get to William's soccer game.

Event comments:

I recommend this race. It was well organized. I didn't see much afterwards because I had to leave, but that is the way most of my fall races work out. Got to see the kids' games.
