Comments:

The conditions at the beginning of the race were not ideal. It was 27 degrees with snow/ice on the roads. I wore my YakTrax for most of the race. I needed them the first three miles then forgot I had them on until 7.5 miles. I stopped and pulled them off and the run was more comfortable. I ran with Cathy and it was fun to have someone to talk to. After mile 3 I put on Poison's Greatest Hits and finished the race just as the last song was ending...how is that for timing? The wind on this run was rough but it kept me from overheating.
What would you do differently?:

I probably should have drank more. I could've used some Gatorade at mile 9. Once again I wore too much clothing. I should've left my fleece vest in the car but I was so cold the first few miles I needed it.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around. Ate a bagel. Swam in the afternoon to keep legs from getting sore.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Oh, where to start? Ice, cold, wind, my legs, lack of enjoyment of pain, the 3 glasses of wine from the night before :)

Event comments:

I really just wanted to complete the 10 miles (longest run I've done in Colorado). I didn't worry about my time but looking back I probably could have tried to run a little faster and still made it to the finish line.
