Swim
Comments: Not the best swim. My goggles were leaking and I think it was b/c of the neoprene cap. I believe it was not allowing the goggles to sit flush against my face. It was a slow leak but caused be to stop five times and float on my back to get the water out. It also gave me poor vision so I could not sight as well as I would've liked. Water felt much better once I got warmed up. The worst part was how numb my face felt. What would you do differently?: Adjust googles to prevent leak. Transition 1
Comments: Took my time since I was winded and a little light-headed from the swim. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: Slow ride but I'm not surprised since I've had been outside on my bike only once b/f the race. Trainer just doesn't cut it. What would you do differently?: Need to get on my bike more Transition 2
Comments: Uneventful What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: Passed quite a few people which allowed me to win back some dignity after being passed by many on the bike. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: Passed quite a few people which allowed me to win back some dignity after being passed by many on the bike. What limited your ability to perform faster: I'm out of shape. Event comments: Set-up Events does a great job. Last updated: 2007-04-25 12:00 AM

Didn't sleep well. People in the hotel room next to us got up at about 4:30 and kept slamming the door. I got out of bed at 6:30 and took a quick shower. Ate oatmeal and drank a little cranberry juice. Headed to the race at 7:30 and got there at about 8:15. Checked in and then went to set up in the transition area.
Got into the water about shin deep and it was very cold. About 20 minutes before race time I put on my wetsuit and swam a bit and it was tough catching my breath in the frigid water.
