Swim
Comments: I don't know what it is about this damn lake but everytime I race in it my swim is for shit. Today was no different. I couldn't find my stroke and I felt like I was flailing around out there. I flipped on my back twice for about 15 seconds each just to get my HR down. Not so good. What would you do differently?: More time in the pool. Transition 1
Comments: In and out as quick as I could. Today was first race I've done where I did not wear socks on bike or run in an attempt to shorten my T times. I was about 45 seconds faster than last race at this venue. What would you do differently?: Nothin...maybe run faster in T. Bike
Comments: PR for my bike split. I really let it out on the bike as my goal for this race was to have a fast bike split. I'm .5 mph away from ultimate goal of 20mph avg for a race. Pretty good bike leg. What would you do differently?: Not much. I can see that I have a couple more MPH in me with more conditioning so I know the 20mph mark is attainable. Transition 2
Comments: Played no games here. Quick change of shoes and some Gu20 and I was out. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: Little disappointed here as my last race here was a couple minutes faster. Maybe I left a bit too much on the bike leg. Either way, I was OK with the run, but not thrilled. I did sprint like a madman the last 25 yards to pass a couple people at the line much to the delight of the crowd which whooped and hollared as I lay Nike rubber down the chute. Post race
Warm down: Hung out with some friends and waited for awards ceremony Event comments: For the most part it was an OK race for me. I improved over my last race here by 45 seconds despite being a full 2 mins slower on my run split. I finished 2nd in my AG and took home some hardware. On a scale of 1-10, I'd give my performance and my level of satisfaction a 7. Last updated: 2007-06-30 12:00 AM

Up at 4am on 3 hours of sleep. Coffee and a shower then hit the road.
Got to site an hour before he event. Got marked up and set up transition. Talked to a few people I knew and headed across the lake for the swim start.
