Swim
  • 07m 20s
  • 400 yards
  • 01m 50s / 100 yards
Comments:

First time I raced without my wetsuit. Wanted to see if I could save any time by not having to get out of it. Really crowded swim. Had to be more agressive than usual. Didn't do much sighting, basically followed the people around me. Rounding the bouy was a clusterf**k. Everybody basically stopped and you sort of had to dog paddle around it.
What would you do differently?:

Overall time, including T1 was actually slower than first race which I did with wetsuit. So really didn't save any time in T1 by not having to get out of suit.
Transition 1
  • 01m 3s
Comments:

Really slow considering I didn't have to take wetsuit off. Had trouble getting into shoes, probably because my feet were so wet.
Bike
  • 39m 16s
  • 12 miles
  • 18.34 mile/hr
Comments:

Ah where to begin. Couldn't get right foot clipped in for the first few hundred yards. The trouble with speedplay cleats is they get clogged pretty easily. About half way through the second loop around the Lake, drilled a pot hole with my front tire, then heard ssssssssssssssss. I was having a really good ride up to this point, and was pretty pissed off when it happened. No quitting though. Good time to practice changing a tube. Funny how hard it is when you've got adrenaline pumping through your system and you are fumbling with everything. Lost about 6-7 minutes overall, but on teh bright side, had no problems changing it.
What would you do differently?:

Not flat. DUH.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Run
  • 25m 23s
  • 3.2 miles
  • 07m 56s  min/mile
Comments:

Well after the bike incident, had really fresh legs coming out of transition. Started blasting by people right from the start. Picked off 8 peoiple in the first mile, and 5 more in the second until I caught up to Polly. Then she was gracious enough to let me run in with her. Great job on the PR Polly.
What would you do differently?:

Eh, not much
Post race
Warm down:

Beer

What limited your ability to perform faster:

flat tire

Event comments:

I'll have one more chance to race here in 2 weeks, so I'll exact my revenge then.
