Swim
Comments: It was a good swim...but...my result was not what I was expecting...I'm usually doing for 1/4 mile in between 8:05 to 8:20 in races and I did it in 8:40...my time when I'm doing easy swim trainings...what happened??? I don't know... What would you do differently?: Continue with my trainings Transition 1
Comments: I was the fastest in my Age Group like usual and Overall 39. A very fast transition...just when I got out of water I ran very fast and at the same time removing cap/googles and wax-ear-plugs and put them inside my cap...got inside transition area in my rack area...put suglasses and helmet at the same time my biking shoes...took my bike and ran very fast out of transition to the mount/desmount bike area...and jumped into my bike... What would you do differently?: Continue with my trainings. Bike
Comments: I did an excellent Bike ride...the best that I have done in this Bike Course even the heavy traffic (a lot of riders)...I was very happy cuz I could keep an excellent average very close with one of my best friend that she is usually the 2nd or 3rd fastest in our Age Group...and...I reached/passed her in the last 1/2 mile in our way to the transition area...Yes...!!! when I got to the mount/desmount bike area I did it like usual like the Pro/Elite but with shoes on... What would you do differently?: Continue with my tranings...I know that I have improved a lot in the bike. Transition 2
Comments: I'm usually the fastest in my Age Group...but...this time I was 2nd...when I ran to my rack area I didn't find space to put my bike the guy next to me put his bike in my place and there were not enough space...Damn!!! I had to push the bikes to open space and place my bike...I lost a valuable time...my T2 time is usually lesser than the T1 time...then I changed shoes, took my belt with Bid#,hat and bottle of water and ran very fast out the transition area...and at the same time buckled my belt with my Bid# and put my hat... What would you do differently?: Continue with my trainings. Run
Comments: It was a good run...I usually don't have problem adjusting my pace after the bike...I started not too fast and not too slow...and the first thing that I did was to drink water from my bottle and the left-over dumped over my head and upper-body...then I started to push a little more and more progressively till the last water station where I sprinted till the Finish Line... What would you do differently?: Train more and push a little more in my trainings... Post race
Warm down: Just when I passed the Finis Line and a volunteer gave me a bottle of water and Accelerade and other took my chip...I went to wait for my other girlfriends and my Buddy...that unfortunate he had problems with his bike and I passed him... Event comments: Even I got 2nd place in my Age Group...2 women from my Age Group were awarded 1st and 2nd Female Master Overall Last updated: 2008-01-03 12:00 AM

We washed/lubed/tuned our bikes like usual the day before a race...prepared/packed all our stuff too. Also we put our Hed3C Wheel in our bikes.
We couldn't go to pick-up our Race Package...cuz...it was in Ft. Lauderdale...too far for us...and...I don't think the gas is free...LOL.
Took a nap in the afternoon for 1 hours from 2 to 3 pm...then...I did an easy 1/4 mile swim...prepared our beverages for our race...and...we took an early dinner...chicken and pasta. We loaded our bikes and bags with our stuff in the car before went to bed.
We woke-up at 4:20 am...took breakfast: orange juice, small bowl of macaroni & cheese...and my usual Soy Protein Shake (chocolate) and our multivitamins/minerals package, Amino1500 and Q-10.
We left from home around 4:45 am but we did our usual technical stop (dump) in the Service Plaza of Pompano Beach and got in Tradewinds Park around 5:50 am...but...there were the 2 usual long lines in the entrance...it took us more than 10 minutes to get inside in the Parking Area...then...got our Race Packages with our t-shirts, goodies, Bid#, chips, body-marked and placed our bikes in the rack in the Transition Area...I got the Bid# 125 and my Buddy the Bid# 130. Then I placed my helmet and sunglasses over the seat...my AeroBottle with AminoVital/water in the braket in my Aero Bar...biking/running shoes, hat, belt with Bid# and a frozen bottle of water under my bike in the grass. Then when everything was ready...I did sit in my Buddy's Cooler and took two Clif Shot Energy Gel with water and AminoVital and 2 caplets of endurolytes and relax and did a visualization of the race...check like always the exits and where exactly my bike was...took my wax-ear-plugs/cap (PINK...I hate this color)/and googles and we headed to the lake...
The weather was great...temperatures in 80oF.
When we got to the other side of the lake...I jumped into the lake...and...swam about 200 mts and came back to shore and out I did some stretchings before the 1st wave started.
The Duathlon started in time like usual at 7:00 am and the 1st wave at 7:10 am of 4 waves every 5 minutes...My Buddy was in the 2nd one and me in the 3rd one (all females)...
