Pre-race routine:

Got to the site a little after 7:00am. Got number and chip and headed back to car. Hung out for a while and pumped up tires and racked bike. Second rack from Bike Out/In and second bike in on rack. Jogged for about 8 to 10 minutes 20 minutes before.
Run
  • 18m 50s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 06m 04s  min/mile
Comments:

Could have pushed it a little harder.
Transition 1
  • 00m 37s
Comments:

Did a stupid thing and didn't check bike shoes before the race. Put them on the ground by bike and they still had the air gage in one shoe. Didn't realize this until T1 of race. Need to get some tri shoes.
Bike
  • 33m 11s
  • 12 miles
  • 21.70 mile/hr
Comments:

Stayed aero pretty much whole time. Got passed by about four to five people. Passed two guys, one young kid and another walking his bike back to the park.
What would you do differently?:

Be faster!
Transition 2
  • 00m 34s
Comments:

I started to put my bike on the first rack and didn't see my shoes/bag and realized it was the wrong one and moved to the second rack. May have cost a second or two but need to use my head when coming into the transition area. No problem getting bike shoes off but when I put my flats back on I couldn't get the fastener to tighten on the strings. I ended up running with the elastic laces not tightened. Feet didn't slip around much and it wasn't a problem. I need an easier way to tighten/fasten the elastic laces.
Run
  • 18m 34s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 05m 58s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt pretty good. Tried to push it. Suprised by last 5k split being as fast as it was. Picked off several guys that passed me on the bike.
Post race
Warm down:

Not much of one. Hung out and waited for the award presentation.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing in particuliar. Need to get faster on the bike.

Event comments:

Look forward to next year when bike course will be back to Oakwoods Metro Park.
