Pre-race routine:

We got there really early, so plenty of time to get set up.

I got into the water and just made sure I could get my face in the water. It was really cold, but no problem.

Had a lot of anxiety from previous experience. The ear plugs made all the difference! Kept the cold water out of my ears so I could get my face in the water and kept me from becoming dizzy. I've never moved this fast in the water, thank you current! This was a great swim. Waved to Aaron while he took pictures from the bridge.

My bike must not fit me as I really strained a small hamstring muscle climbing. I was clearly not prepared for this much climbing. Slow, but geez that was hard.
What would you do differently?:

Get on the bike more. Find more hills. Get bike fit. I've just been rolling around having fun in training.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

As always, the effort I put into training. This year I'm just trying this out and doing it for fun.

Event comments:

The bike course was too hard for me, the rest was fine. I did fine anyway. I'm proud that I conquered my OWS fear and HTFU and did it.
