Overall Rank = 649/1666
Age Group = F30-34
Age Group Rank = 24/97
Pre-race routine:

Got picked up at 8:30. Had a snickers marathon bar, sugar free red bull and half a bagel...and about a half bottle of water. Sounds appetizing, huh? Hey, it worked!
Event warmup:

Quick warm up to and from the car to pick up our numbers and chips (why this race had chips, I'll never know...there was no mat at the start, only at the finish. Gun time equalled chip time, so I lost 30 seconds off my overall finish. Whatever.)

  • 1h 42m 4s
  • 13.1 miles

Comments:

I wish they had gatorade on the course.
What would you do differently?:

Work my way closer to the start, since there was no start line mat.
Post race
Warm down:

Sat in the warm car for a few minutes and then went in to change. Fish chowder and sandwiches. YUM.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Probably eating McD's the day before. But I can't complain. I PR'd.

Event comments:

The amount of New Bedford police on the course was unbelievable. Same with the local spectators. The town really comes out for this race. It was great.

Performance: Good
Course: Relatively flat with a few major hills - one of those being at mile 12. There's usually a big head wind when you get out on the water, but we got lucky and had to deal with very little wind.
