Overall Rank = 35/257
Age Group = F45-49
Age Group Rank = 3/30
Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 4:45. Dressed and headed out the door. Stopped at QFC and got a yogurt and banana and bottle of water.
Swim
  • 07m 58s
  • 437 yards
  • 01m 49s / 100 yards
Comments:

Went out too fast for me, and legs felt like lead at the first buoy.
Transition 1
  • 01m 30s
Comments:

suit stuck on ankle with chip
Bike
  • 46m 4s
  • 14 miles
  • 18.23 mile/hr
Comments:

Bike went fine. I want to be stronger on the hills. I am working at pushing beyond comfortable. It works out on the flats and downhills. Hills not so much, I am just slow and panting like a tired 46 year old woman!

Freaky thing: I was the first bike back to our rack! THAT has never happened before! In my first tri, my bike was the only one on the rack when I finished the swim...that is completely different than having my bike be the only one after the bike!!!!
What would you do differently?:

I need to get the longer stem put on the bike and be fitted. Aerobars would be really sweet.
Transition 2
  • 00m 52s
Run
  • 25m 25s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 10s  min/mile
Comments:

I feel good about my run, I am trying to run a bit on the uncomfortable side, push it a little. It's not as cozy and leisurely, but it's faster.
What would you do differently?:

Push harder!
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around, had water, orange slice, and turkey slice; then I got a neck and shoulder massage from Josh. VERY nice, there are some good things for finishing sooner :)

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Myself, inconsistent training

Event comments:

BuDu Racing really works hard to put on a fun, organized race for all racers from experienced to first timers.

Vinette came in 2nd in her age group AND she was the first winner of a random prize- Organic Chocolate Lip Balm Kiss! Yum, yum!
