Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 4am, took shower, ate two multigrain blueberry waffles, packed the wife and kids in the car. Left about 5:30 half an hour late.

I arrived at about 6:30 and got checked in. Barely got ready in time for the start.
Event warmup:

No time.
Swim
  • 25m 49s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 34s / 100 yards
Comments:

This was a great way to start my first triathlon. I had no idea I would do so well comparatively. I just started training for the swim in Feb.
What would you do differently?:

I would try to start closer to the front of the pack.
Transition 1
  • 03m 31s
Comments:

I was a little disoriented when I came out of the water and could find my bike.

I ate a gel pack. Should have drank more water after eating the pack.
What would you do differently?:

Walk the swim finish to my bike a couple of times before the race.
Bike
  • 1h 24m 11s
  • 25 miles
  • 17.82 mile/hr
Comments:

Good but could have pushed a little harder.
What would you do differently?:

Pratice biking more. I have only been biking since the beginng of April.
Transition 2
  • 01m 59s
Comments:

I forgot to take off my cycling shorts. For some reason my feet were numb when I put on my running shoes I think my socks were bunched up.

Should have taken a tums. My stomach wasn't feeling well probably from the earlier gel pack.
What would you do differently?:

Make sure my socks aren't bunched up.
Run
  • 54m 14s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 08m 44s  min/mile
Comments:

Average run I should have been able to hold 8:30 miles if my stomach wasn't off.

Not to bad for my first tri.
What would you do differently?:

Taken tums to settle my stomach.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around in a daze.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Inexperience.

Event comments:

Great race. I had such a good time I am going to try to do the PTC sprint race in August.
