Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 4:35 after a restless night. Ate some oatmeal on the drive to the lake. Carried mine and my wife's gear to the transition areas and set up.
Event warmup:

Went for a short swim, did a few jumping jacks, stretched a bit and waited for the event to get going.

Put sunblock on prior to the race, not in the transition... j/k, wish I could blame it on that.

I think my downfall was riding a mountain bike. IMO, not bad for the equipment I had.

Again, not sure what took me so long. Only needed to drop bike, remove helmet and grab a hat. Was in running shoes on bike already.

Sandy spots didn't take me by suprise (saw them the day before), but they are no fun when you are tired.
What would you do differently?:

Definitely need to train more on running.

Warm down:

Walked around, talked with my wife. Water, oranges, etc.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I had a head cold. Didn't train for 1.5 weeks prior to race. Didn't train enough in general.

Event comments:

Only my 2nd race, so I don't have much to compare it too.
