Pre-race routine:

Got in a bit early to get a nice rack position. Stretched and relaxed for a while. Got acclimated to the water temperature.

Comments:

The swim felt alright, though when it was over I was thoroughly exhausted. I swam fairly fast, but I definitely should have done better and will work to train for the next one.
What would you do differently?:

Train harder.

I was just so tired after the swim, it took me a minute to get situated. I definitely was going at a leasurely pace.

The bike was aweful. I could not get comfortable the entire ride. I was shifting every chance I got and could not for the life of me stay down in the Aero position. I really need to get out in the tri suit more to get a feel for it, but the first two races I did in it felt great. Everything about this race could have been done better. I knew that I was ill prepared going in, but it was still dissapointing.
What would you do differently?:

Practice for the race better. Work more on the hills.

This was a bit of a clumsy transition. I was quite tired from the bike and I felt like I was just going through the motions without any real goal in mind.

Have a bit more of a planned path to take.

I am ashamed of how I did on this run. I was so poorly prepared it was funny. I could have walked faster than I ran. I was just so exhausted at this point that nothing I did worked. My asthma was working up, which is rare, and I was overly hot. I couldn't pick my feet up and just felt like crap. (sounds great doesn't it)
What would you do differently?:

Actually train running.

Warm down:

I was so done with everything. I felt like crap and my mood was in the toilet. I didn't warm down at all other than walk around fumming.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

lack of preparation and training.

Event comments:

I'm sure that this would have been a great event if I was prepared to make it a good event. This race was over for me before I even started it. I came to this race just after having a vacation and on the tail end of an ear infection. Basically I had three strikes against me before even starting the race. I will make sure to be in a much better position for the next race.
