Pre-race routine:

This race didn't start until 10am. We got out there around 8am. Got set up, ate a breakfast bar and banana.

I was hoping for a faster swim. Around 8 minutes. Oh well!
We were afraid the swim was not going to happen. A couple of nights before the race the lake turned over, depriving the fish of oxygen. The lake was COVERED in dead fish. They tried to scoop out some of them and used wave runners to push them to the bank. It was pretty stinky!!! I only had an encounter with the fish at the final stretch of the swim as we got near the bank. I had to spat them out of my face. Gross!

I didn't accomplish my goal of making it up that hill without getting off my bike. There were guys wobbling around me on the narrow path up and I bailed out early! There will be next year to try again.
Other than that...good ride! Love the new aero bars!
