Pre-race routine:

Just drove to get coffee and then headed for the lake. Got there early and set up in transition.
Event warmup:

Just swam a few meters and rode maybe a mile. Discovered my front derailur was out of wack so had a friend help me fix it.

My time is just a guess as there are no offocial results posted but this is close, seems slow though. I was the third person out of the water in my wave, male 44 and younger, so felt good about the performance regardless of what my actual time was. I decided to swim without a wetsuit to save time in T-1. I figured that my swimming has improved enough and the swim was so short that any gain from a wetsuit would be a wash in a longer T-1

it was a hot, hard run and I didn't feel like I was running particularly fast but it was fast enough to keep from getting passed by all but a couple people. I think most people were fried by the time they got to the run anyway.
