Pre-race routine:

woke up early, ate a bagel with peanut butter. Walk down with the team. About 1 mile
Event warmup:

Checked my gear, pre-race RR beak, wetsuit, chip, and body glide. Said hi to the family and waited on the beach for the gun.

Started in the back, had trouble geting the goggles to seal at first. Wanted to swim on the outside, ended up on the inside, worked out well.

pre-race swim to seal the goggles and start in the middle to front

Got red flagged early and spent 5 minutes in the penalty tent. 5 pee breaks lost me even more time. Last 25 miles very uncomfortable on the bike.

Pee on the bike and wear better shorts

Keep a good pace throughout the entire run.

Warm down:

Loved on the family, ate some food, laid in the grass, greeted the team as they finished.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

To many RR breaks on the bike. Started the run to fast.

Event comments:

Love the time with the family and the team. Great support from top to bottom. For my first full Im it was amazing, just wish I had the same emotions as on the videos. I am an Ironman, but I will do better.
