Tri the Parks Triathlon Race Series
Sunny
Total Time = 1h 09m 33s
Overall Rank = 22/201
Age Group = 20-24
Age Group Rank = 1/8
Pre-race routine:

Slept overnight in Augusta so I wouldn't have to make 2 hour drive on race morning. Woke up and did some stretching and ate a Powerbar. Lots of fluids.
Event warmup:

Didn't really have enough time to go for a short run so just warmed up in the water for about 15 min.
Swim
  • 12m 13s
  • 656 yards
  • 01m 52s / 100 yards
Comments:

Lots of hours in the pool-0 hours pracitce in open water=microscopic OWS improvement.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe push a little harder, I was just trying to stay relaxed.
Transition 1
  • 00m 38s
Comments:

This was my first kinda critical mistake I have made. I usually rubber band my shoes in place on my bike to make it easy to slide my feet it. I pulled my bike down from the rack too fast and a rubber band snapped. I made it outta T1 fast but I lost at least 2 min. on the bike riding at about 3 mph trying to get my right foot in my shoe.
What would you do differently?:

Secure shoes a little better, save a lot of hassle.
Bike
  • 33m 51s
  • 11.8 miles
  • 20.92 mile/hr
Comments:

Made up some time on the bike, lots of practice is starting to pay off.
What would you do differently?:

Not sure.
Transition 2
  • 00m 29s
Comments:

Continuing to fall into a rhythm during transition, so I'm happy.
What would you do differently?:

Get shoes on a little quicker.
Run
  • 22m 20s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 07m 11s  min/mile
Comments:

Just trying to get my legs under me. I didn't even fall into a pace until after mile 2 because the first half was so difficult for me!
What would you do differently?:

Work harder.
Post race
Warm down:

Chatted with my Dad for a few minutes.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Only my 4th race. Gradually improving.

Event comments:

They screwed up the results from the race, so they had to go through every single racer's results again. Awards started almost 2 hours late. Most didn't even stay, but I REALLY wanted that medal haha.
