Total Time = 1h 47m
Overall Rank = 161/
Age Group = 26-30
Age Group Rank = 11/22
Pre-race routine:

Got up at 0530, got dressed. I ate a bar I got from the expo and a banana. Double checked I had everything, put bodyglide on everything again, pumped up my tires.
Event warmup:

Road my bike from the camp ground to the start/T1. Stood knee deep in the water before my wave start to get used to the water.
Swim
  • 14m 20s
  • 820 yards
  • 01m 45s / 100 yards
What would you do differently?:

I swam a lot faster than I thought I would, next time I'll start more up front. I lost time trying to let the fast people start before me and then trying to get around people.
Transition 1
  • 03m 58s
Comments:

There was a LONG run in T1 to the mount line and there were a ton of people coming and going. ALso it was a point to point so I had to pack everything into a swim bag.
What would you do differently?:

Try leaving the shoes clipped to the bike so I can run faster. Maybe bring my own (bigger) bag to pack the swim stuff in.
Bike
  • 57m
  • 15.2 miles
  • 16.00 mile/hr
What would you do differently?:

Definitely more hill training so I could have pushed harder. Need to really work on my nutrition plan while biking.
Transition 2
  • 01m 48s
What would you do differently?:

Practice riding on top my shoes. I didn't practice before so I didn't think it would be a good idea to try at the race. Have someone watch me during practice to see how I spent 1:48 to change shoes.
Run
  • 29m 56s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 09m 37s  min/mile
Comments:

Had two cups of water...had pretty bad side cramps the whole way
What would you do differently?:

Better bike nutrition...try gatorade instead of water.
Post race
Warm down:

Cold water and half a banana at the finish.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

side cramps on the run. Even after the hills my legs felt like I could have pushed the run at lot faster if it weren't for the cramps.

Event comments:

If I do this next year I'll definitely not rely on the buses to get back to T1. Riding my bike would have been 3x as fast as the bus.
