Pre-race routine:

Helped my husband (the race director) lay out the course. I tore up my fingernails with drawing arrows on the ground with sidewalk chalk!

Comments:

Since I'm pregnant, I need to make sure that keep my heartrate out of anaerobic territory. That means I have to slow down. Big bummer for me. I really didn't like being behind people that I know I can beat without even trying!

The run went good. I had to walk up the two short, steep hills and take a bathroom break at the 3 mile mark. The weather was nice and cool which helped a lot. I did enjoy just loping along looking at all of the wild blackberries just begging to be picked along the Mad River. I could have had a feast during that run!

All of the fast boys (who are always faster than me) slapped my hand as they passed me. I really felt like they wanted me to succeed out there. Pretty cool!

Duh! Being pregnant!

Fun race and well organized. I'm biased, though.
