Pre-race routine:

woke up at 6 and had my shake and took care of business. got dressed, went down with Alicia so she could get some breakfast and walked across the street to the race site.

Comments:

According to the website through mile 10 my average was 9:34, at the halfway pt. my avg. was 9:37. At mile 20 it was 10:07. Felt hugely pukey from miles 19-22, but didn't.
What would you do differently?:

nothing, my goal was to beat 5 hours so I was tickled pink at my final time.
Post race
Warm down:

walked around with the girls. I was so happy that Alicia, Barb. F. and Deb Torpey were there to cheer me on. Alicia also had a great half marathon.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

feeling pukey

Event comments:

could have used some orange slices on the course. no soup or pasta left when I got done.

Well, my first marathon went pretty smoothly. Beautiful day!! Only moderate chafing from sports bra. Overall a good day. Didn't see the mile markers for miles 1 & 2 so we will start at 3. miles 1-3: 29:10 mile 4 - 9:29 mile 5 - 9:50 mile 6-7:19:19 mile 8 - 9:35 mile 9 - 9:48 mile 10 - 9:50 mile 11 - 10:03 mile 12 - 9:48 mile 13 - 9:59 mile 14 - 10:30 mile 15 - 10:46 mile 16 - 10:32 mile 17 - 10:51 mile 18 - 10:22 mile 19 - 11:05 mile 20 - 11:46 mile 21 - 11:30 mile 22 - 11:20 mile 23 - 11:23 mile 24 - 11:50 mile 25 - 10:30 mile 26.2 - 11:43
Course: beautiful run around hartford and east hartford.
