What would you do differently?:

I'll be less conservative in reporting my estimated 300m time so I can be seeded a bit higher and perhaps not have to pass so many people.

Had to put on thermal jacket and tights and gloves, which took a great deal of time in T1.

Unzip tights; sit down to put them on.

Excellent run for me. First mile okay, though a bit stiff. Loosened up in second mile and just kept it up till the end.

Warm down:

Drank water. Took dirty gear to car and changed clothes. Ate baked potato. Stretched some.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Poor bike.

Event comments:

Race packet said check in for transition would be 5:30 a.m. It was not. volunteers on site said 6 a.m., but even then it was late. Swim start was late but due to late arrival of EMT's and race director's concern for athletes' safety.

I gave a very conservative swim time based on where I was three months ago so I ended up with slower swimmers, but it wasn't too bad. I passed three people, two of whom stopped at the end of the lane for that purpose, which I appreciate.
