Swim
  • 18m 14s
  • 750 meters
  • 02m 26s / 100 meters
Comments:

I was on the heels of the person in front of me in the first laps. I passed and moved to the front. Around lap 8 I slowed and moved to the back of the pack.
What would you do differently?:

Pacing - need to work on consistent pacing and improve my kick. Lots of drills and get some coaching.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

I put on helmet then socks and shoes, took a drink of electrolyte pulled the bike off the rack and headed to the mount line. Got onto bike and began pedaling once I was locked in I headed out.

Not and ideal transition by any means.
What would you do differently?:

Practice transitions. Now that I've been through it I have an idea on what I need to improve on
Bike
  • 49m 7s
  • 20 kms
  • 24.43 km/hr
Comments:

Pushed through - did the best I knew how.
What would you do differently?:

Pay more attention to proper training techniques. Get some coaching advice and try some spin classes.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Bike shoes off and running shoes on fairly quickly. Took a swig of electrolyte and headed out.
What would you do differently?:

Get a belt and have some electrolyte on me so I don't waste time in transition drinking.
Run
  • 32m 50s
  • 5 kms
  • 06m 34s  min/km
Comments:

Heart rate was in the 153bpm range or zone 3.8. Tried to push harder had a tough time getting my legs going any faster.
What would you do differently?:

Get some running advice and take a running class to improve
Post race
Warm down:

Walked a little.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of coaching - doing it on my own. Need others to help motivate me to improve. Technique needs to improve in all areas.

Based on my times I need to work on:

1. Running
2. Swimming
3. Biking

Can't forget to practice transitions too!

Event comments:

For my first race it was great. I now have one under my belt. Onwards and upwards. I have an Olympic race on July 19th that I'm now going to prepare for...
