Swim
Comments: The wetsuit was a great investment, improving my overall buoyancy which helped me breathe better and overall, swim faster. What would you do differently?: The swim went real well. Transition 1
Comments: T1 felt good although I could use speeding it up a little. Everything was laid out fine and taking off the wetsuit was easier than when I tried it at home. What would you do differently?: Bike mounting needs more work. Bike
Comments: First bridge was fine, coming back had the winds - even going down was slow. Second lap bridge was okay but coming back that fourth climb was a bear. Coming down the bridge the fourth time wasn't even normal fast. I wanted to have the guy driving the Explorer arrested for attempted manslaughter going into the final few miles. What would you do differently?: I really need to work on my cycling training. Transition 2
Comments: Added T-time due to length of transition area and amount of competitors. What would you do differently?: I need to get under a minute for the T2. Run
Comments: Brought my own water which I think was a great idea for an Olympic distance race. I started a little slower than I wanted to but picked up the pace considerably during the final 1.5 miles. It was a great feeling passing a few dozen people and finishing the race in style. What would you do differently?: Take it a little harder throughout the entire race. Post race
Warm down: Bottle of water and a massage. What limited your ability to perform faster: Training. Event comments: Well-organized and sanctioned. Parking was upsetting when I pay $130 and then have to pay $5 to park at the high school a quarter a mile away. I was not happy about that. The run route could use some improvements although the shade was nice. Last updated: 2009-03-16 12:00 AM
