Total Time = 1h 20m 3s
Overall Rank = 214/449
Age Group = 25-29
Age Group Rank = 7/37
Pre-race routine:

kashi berakfast with bananah and oj, no coffee
woke up a little late but got there in plenty of time.
rainy and cold, did not warm up bike or run but did warm up for swim. Sipped water, scoped out transition area, finish, ect. relaxed
Had to stand in cold rain waiting for start and back and shoulders siezed up a little but not to bad.
Swim
  • 07m 1s
  • 328 yards
  • 02m 08s / 100 yards
Comments:

room for improvement but overall pretty good.
What would you do differently?:

relax and be more agressive with passing.
Transition 1
  • 02m
Comments:

had trouble finding way out of transition area but overall ok, my towel was nice and organized just like I wanted it, though everything wet from rain.
What would you do differently?:

scope out transition entrance and exits better and do a short run through before race.
Bike
  • 44m 25s
  • 12.43 miles
  • 16.79 mile/hr
Comments:

honestly, the fastest I have ever biked! Went hard the whole way, one bottle of cytomax (16 oz.) was perfect for refueling. had to stop once because I thought chain came off (it didn't) just skipped gears on a hill. Gotta work on bike handling but a great first race.
What would you do differently?:

get a road bike but, get clipless pedals that are easier to clip into. Learn to run and mount bike while moving.
Transition 2
  • 01m 20s
Comments:

lots of things I can do to make this transition better but ok for a first time. got my shoes on and helmet off nicely.
What would you do differently?:

learn to mount/dismount on moving bike.
Run
  • 25m 19s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 08s  min/mile
Comments:

best 5K I think. run is definitely my strong point. Passed a lot of people. Did not drink anything but that was perfect. Very happy with run.
What would you do differently?:

pick up pace a little.
Post race
Warm down:

pizza, water, walking

What limited your ability to perform faster:

bike handling during transitions, not being agressive enough on swim.

Event comments:

overall an awesome first time race.
