Prayed with family at hotel, caught subway to bus pick-up, caught bus, relaxed in athletes village, put bag on bus, walked to start, ran!

Remember the walk from athletes village to the start -- it's surreal!

Comments:

This was a dream come true! After topping heartbreak hill at mile 21, I experienced the best 5 mile run of my life!
The crowd and people of New England are grate -- they made me feel like royalty! The "pulled" me through and inspired me to live a dream.
What would you do differently?:

N-O-T-H-I-N-G!
Post race
Warm down:

None -- walked through finish line stations in amazement. I was coming to realization that "this just happened!"

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Running with 26000 runners and respect for "the Newton Hills" slowed me in the beginning -- I "saved it" for the hills. Despite finishing 5 minutes under my goal (lost in the first 20K), I would not do anything different. Running negative splits at Boston from 21 to 26 was awesome.

Event comments:

Awesome!

Course: The first 16 is a downhill, but don't treat is as one. It's up and down and is like running a "hilly 16." Then, at mile 16, begins "Newton." Make it to 21 feeling good and experience the awesome run to Boylston St. Make it to the convention center (on Boylston) and experience the finish of a lifetime. Advise for first timers. . . Train on hills late in your long runs and respect Newton early in the race. The course is "as advertised."
