  • Comments: this was my 15 IM (11th ranked in time). The course is pretty tough. The lower cost and less hype is good for a change (after all we are doing the sport for ourselves not to be movie stars). Presentation was good, pity not many turned up.

  • Comments: I loved that this was my first IM. Having grown up in the Bay Area, I was able to have my family and friends there to support me. It was beautiful, well run and a GREAT course for a first timer. I will definitely be back, and am encouraging friends to either do the full or the Aquabike.

  • Comments: Personal Record for the Iron Distance! Personal Record for the Iron Distance bike split by 25 minutes! Missed Personal record for the marathon by 1 minute and 37 seconds. Great race! Can't wait until next year!

  • Comments: Given this being my first full ironman distance race, I thought it was done very well. There were plenty of volunteers at T1 area, bike aid stations, T2 area and run aid stations. Also, the local police did a good job with traffic control at the intersections of the bike course. It's great they offer the buy 2 get 1 free entry deal for this race. As for the t-shirts, you get one during your race packet pickup and you get another one once you finish the race (this one said "Finisher" on it)! I really liked the design of their t-shirts. I'll be wearing these proudly. Finally, the finisher's medal was great because it had a good weight to it and it had the year on it. I would definitely recommend this race to others.

  • Comments: The post race food was bad. The post race activities paled in comparison to what Endorfun sports and high five events do, but not everything can be excellent.

  • Comments: Vineman is a beautiful course, but damn that run course is a bitch! I'm glad that I finished, but I think I will stick to the 70.3 on this course. Being an Ironman distance event, it would have been great to have volunteers in transition to help. Thank you to all of you that follow my training and continue to offer words of encouragement. My injury in June sidelined my training as well as my spirits, I am so grateful to have finished this race. As with every race, I learn more about myself and what my body can accomplish if I put my mind to it. So many people ask me "why do you race Ironman?" My response, "there are many things you can lose in life; spouse, home, job, the list is endless as there are so many thing outside of our control. However, my Ironman finishes are something that will always be mine. It forces you to find strength when you feel you have nothing else to give." Back to training, I'm racing Ironman again in 6 weeks :) "4-time Ironman" sounds great

  • Comments: Great volunteers + great staff/organizers + beautiful scenery = wonderful race. Also high praise for the spectators ...undoubtedly the best part of the race! In short, for my first "full ironman" distance, it was truly a great experience.

  • Comments: Can't beat the volunteers, the setting (Sonoma), or the weather (perfect). Like every race, they need at least 50% more porta potties at start. Post race food could have been significantly improved (think Raintree in Lawrence), but overall, a wonderful first Ironman experience.
