  • Comments: FINALLY My first TRI! cant wait to improve. I really felt I left 4 to 5 mins out there - mostly on swim and bike. I need to practice transitions as I never have before. I also only did one bike to run brick practice, so overall I am very HAPPY about my performance!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comments: I'm proud of my improvement and look forward to improving in all areas. Having one race anniversary down...I have Tri the Rock next week to see how I imrpove (hopefully) vs. last years race. Yeah, one week after doing my first tri...we signed up the day before the race (talk about getting the tri bug!) Plus, Tri the Rock is a rolling hills bike course in preparation for 70.3 Longhorn in 1.5 months). Thanks to my girfriend Angie for being the ultimate cheering section/picture taker/encourager and believing in me. Sorry to the BT'ers I didn't get a chance to talk to before/during or after the race...great job to all of you!

  • Comments: I think my main interest in this race is the fact that it is in The Colony. When my family moved there 28 years ago, the thought of a triathlon there would have been just crazy (especially with the two-lane highway of 423). Good cause to support the firefighters and I plan to make the trip again next year.

  • Comments: Race was good. I still have no idea why it took so long for everyone to start. I mean I was done for a good 20 minutes before the last person got out of the pool. I mean they can do IMKY in 40 minutes but over 1.5hrs for 400 people. Did not effect me I just felt bad for them. Bike/Run placements are disappointing in that I am now placing higher in swimming than bike/run. My first race ever I was 230/55/58 (out of 280) and this race I was 39/53/77 out of 383. Part of this is lack of running fitness leading up to race and the fact that I don't do alot of speed work for shorter rides. I just jump on my bike and go.

  • Comments: I'm a big fan of most anything playtri does. When I needed to get into transition I asked staci about my HR strap and even though she was busy she took the time to talk with me for a minute, & give me the info. I never save this file the right way on the first time... I think the internet is broke or something..

  • Comments: After all that time droppage from last year I still lost to my brother by 14 freaking seconds. 14 Seconds.....I wanted to get under 1:20 with a stretch goal of 1:15 so I am very happy with how this finished up. Did I mention I knocked 20 MINUTES off my time from last year? I also lost 20 lbs since that race. 1 minute per pound so I guess if I just loose another 20 or so pounds I will win the thing next year, right? I better loose 25 just to be safe.

  • Comments: How do you have the best bike split in your AG but only place 4th? Easy -gotta improve on everything else. My running is still not good. My swimming time is still the SAME (one second better is the same - ha) as it was in March! LOL! My running is WORSE! Speedwork...gotta get it back....I don't think my hurting quads really affected my performance that much...meaning it's no excuse for my poor running. All in all - I had a good time. It was great to do another triathlon with my best friend. I always say that the Old College Tri is my standing favorite, and I realized it was another event we did together, and where we travelled together. It was of course great seeing the BT group as always! They are always the best for cheering and encouragement. I really love these events...I looked back, and this was my 8th one - still new to the sport, and still loving it! I have met so many great people, and have made so many great memories! Also...triathlons are so much fun!

  • Comments: This was a great race for my first Tri. I really enjoyed it and it has given me an itch to do many more and improve my personall best. Loosing weight and being consistant on my training with help tremendously.
