  • Comments: Love this race. Will be volunteering next year since IMMOO is only 1 month before allowing for too little recovery time. But I will be back. And I will finish with a 4 in the front of my time. One day....

  • Comments: Highly recommend Chicago Marathon to anyone. Awesome experience with 35000 runners and spectators and, since 07, support. Only bad news was how they routed runners out after the race. Think there was at least another mile or so walking after finish line to get out and back to charity tents. then another mile or so to car! Otherwise perfect.

  • Comments: All of the spectators and volunteers were amazing at this race. It was a ton of fun, despite it being sub-arctic temperatures (okay, not really, but I HATE cold weather). Only thing that puzzled me were the occasional aid stations placed about half a mile away from each other. But I was always able to find water when I needed it so it wasn't a big deal...just confusing.

  • Comments: For having 45,000 runners this was very well organized. They let somebody else get your packet for you which was nice. In addition they learned from the past and had more than enough aid stations that were full staffed with 100's of people at each one. In fact I skipped 2 of them as it wasn't needed with the cooler temps.

  • Comments: I was going to give the race a 5, but they didn't have gels at the water/gatorade stations until about 15 or so and I think there were only two in total. I was freaking out cuz I dropped on of mine and was planning on having enough til the aid station. Lucky for me, the good spectators were dolling out pretzels, candy and water. Someone was even handing out beers!! Passed on that.

  • Comments: This race is incredible, going to make it tough to decide between this and/or the Marine Corps Marathon in 2010.. I really enjoyed it, however want to come back for another shot.

  • Comments: This was a great race. Huge, but very well done. NO problems at expo, traffic control, tons of water stops and volunteers. This was one of the best 2 or 3 races I have done

  • Comments: Holy crap were there a lot of volunteers. The aid stations had what looked to be about 3 million people at each of them. Well stocked and staffed. Everyone was very nice, polite, helpful and friendly.

  • Comments: This race is CROWDED. That's both the best part and the worst part. Especially before the race, all the people make it difficult to get where you're going. And if you're going for a PR, it can be hard to maneuver around people. But, you're never alone out there. It's a top-notch event with a lot of city and crowd support out there. I would totally do this race again. You know, if I were to ever be insane enough to want to do a marathon again. :)

  • Comments: Still a huge favorite of this race. Any race in Chicago is a blast, both the tri and the marathon. Too bad about the Olympics this year, I personally think Chicago got robbed. The volunteers are flat out the best. Think about this, its 31 deg F, and you have to stand handing out water or gatorade all morning to 35,000 people. Not a single frown, tons of support, I can not say enough about the folks who run this race and those who help out.
