• Comments: This is a good local race, produced by an experienced event production company. It was very convenient to stay at the host hotel. The t-shirt was a bit questionable this year - hand-drawn design / logo on a baby-blue tech shirt? Not the most masculine / graphically interesting, but I guess I've got enough of those. Definitely preferred the cotton tee they gave out last year.

• Comments: There was one water/aid station on the bike loop and two on the run. The bay swim was a bit shallow at times but I saw how far the sandbars came out at low tide so I was already aware that it would be shallow. Parking was on the ridiculous side because of the race location being on the Silver Strand. Beach lot parking filled up quickly and if you couldn't find a spot there you had to park in a residential area that made for a nice walk to the start/finish lines as well as the transition area. The race as a whole was great but it was also my first and so I have nothing else to compare it to. I enjoyed it and look forward to my next race.
