  • Comments: Expo and race packet weren't great compared to other races, nor was the post race stuff. My biggest complaint is the lack of options at the aid stations. Gatorade and water...and thats it for the first 16 miles. At mile 16 and 20 they gave out Gu's. Not enough in my opinion. However, the race itself went off with no glitches. Very well marked, and police at every intersection. Also some cool music along the way. That said, I probably won't be back.

  • Comments: started off pretty good. The 2nd half of the marathon I was seriously struggling. I was walking a lot. My wind was fine I wasn't huffing and puffing. It was my legs that were very fatigued. I have to train harder for my next marathon. The longest traing day was only 15 miles. Next time I have to do atleast 20 miles. Also I ate very poorly during the training process and leading up to the race. Over all it was a great experience. I learned a lot about myself like if I have a "refuse to lose" attitude I can achieve anything. It was also reconfirmed to me that my Lord almighty God loves me.---- I tried to drink water and Powerade sports drink every 2 miles and I tried to take a GU energy gel every 45 min. I ate a GU 15 min before the race. I had a medium size bowl of pasta the night before the race and I had a zone bar, Banana, and 2 cups of water for breakfast the day of the race. I weighed 200lbs.
