  • Overall course based on my ability: Just right

  • Comments: Overall, I really enjoyed the race. It was small and informal. It felt almost more like a meet-up than a serious race. The course isn't ideal because of the out and back double loops, but the surface is good and it's flat. I'd probably do this race again.

  • Comments: Race course layout nice, suitable for this smaller size event. Olympic course was double all the Sprint routes, including swim. Glad I didn't do the Sprint race, since they said they would start the Sprint at 0830, and actually started significantly before that time with poor announcement of the change. Consistency of what they say they will do, and what they actually did, is critical. When they make a change, they need to be obsessive about getting the word out. People might have been in the porta-johns, getting something from a car, etc. Good water stops on the run, but "vague" location of run turn around (confused by cone layout) would have been improved by a person saying "TURN AROUND HERE" Weather was ideal - water was a nice 79 and mostly fresh from recent rains. Started at 8 AM close to 70 F and by 11 AM was about 80 F. Light winds, sunny, low humidity for coastal NC. Didn't see any penalties on the results, but don't know if their enforcement was lax, or just not a lot
