  • Comments: The morning of the race had a huge thunderstorm that didn't let up until about 1 hour before the race. We set up transition in the rain. The roads were slick but manageable. The setup events team warned everyone about this steep hill with a sharp 90 turn at the bottom and had volunteers yelling slow down but I still watched a guy go full speed into the woods at the bottom of the hill.

  • Comments: Great race. Well run considering there were 700 people, it was raining, lightning, etc. This is the race that convinced my to take up tri's. I thought this one would be fun. It was a blast! Never been on a road bike before this ride. Very different. I just pulled a time of 1hr 30min out of the sky as a finish time and I would have beat that by 12 minutes if I did not have to walk. This also would have put me in about 110th place out of 350 participants without even training. This race showed me I can do this. Just as with Uwharrie, I got home and looked for the next one.

  • Comments: They really managed the rain distraction well. Setup does a great job in my limited opinion. My only criticism would be the poor trail condition. Greenville itself (downtown), turned out to be a very nice surprise.

  • Comments: This was a great 1st race. Lots of people and very well planned. I will do this every year I have the chance to. There were a lot of 1st timers and I don't think I saw one person having a bad time while I was there. I'm hooked. One down, a lifetime to go!
