  • Comments: Great race, very well run. I didn't care so much for the way the swim start was but it makes sense since the race is so big.

  • Comments: Transition area WAY WAY too crowded. Between this and texas man (my only other tri) this seemed much less organized.

  • Comments: Fun race at a nice venue in my part of town. The bike and run courses have some minor hills to make it interesting. Spectator friendly, including a playground for kids. Nice expo, with plenty of vendors at the race, too. Post race is decent, with some variety of food Organized event, although the transition area still need some improvement. Swag includes a nice technical shirt. Hopefully next year they will bring back the Olympic-distance event, too.

  • Comments: This was a very fun race and a great way to end the 2006 season. I feel like I accomplished some goals, but still ahve plenty to work on to acheive my remaining goals. It was so much fun getting to meet and race with all the BTer's we met this weekend! A special thanks to Laurie and Derek! Great racing everyone!

  • Comments: I'd rate this a 5 but can't due to logistics. They tried to cram too many people into too small of a space for transition, and I wasn't crazy about having to go up a steep hill, then down a longer, steeper one after the swim. Did like the dri fit shirts, and getting the chips at packet pickup instead of race morning was a nice touch (since I almost always forget mine till the last minute).

  • Comments: Overall, this was a good and tough sprint race. Would I do it again...maybe. The more I think about it, the more I'd probably lean towards yes, based off of the challenging nature of the course...plus I really want to do the swim again because I know I could/should have done much better.

  • Comments: It was a great race. A little challenging but a lot of fun. My only complaint would be the long run down the mountainous muddy hill from swim exit to T1. Also transition was really dark trying to set up in the morning. Was very well organized and we had a great time. We'll be back next year for it even though it is kina far from home.

  • Comments: I learned something about the real nature of endurance events; at least for people in my kind of shape. I trained 3 months for my first tri last year and did it without any doubts as to finishing. This one, I wanted to quit a number of times and even doubted my ability to physically cross the finish line at some point. What kept me going was someone's tag line or quote I've seen here: "You can quit and no one will care. But you will always remember." I have enough ego that that kept me going and I'm old enough now that I truly paced myself to ensure I didn't just physically give out. I count that as more of a victory than anything else. As far as disappointments I found my reaction to the water a real downer. I had heard others mention that before and had dismissed it. But it was a real problem for me that I couldn't overcome. I had to work around it in the race and that actually hurt my confidence the rest of the day. It was, however, a learning experience and that lessens

  • Comments: There were a lot of first-timers at this race, so there was a sense of comraderie at this race that I haven't seen in a while. Very well run with what looked like not too many volunteers. I know I've said I don't want to race anymore, but I think I'll be back next year. Can't really beat a race so close to home. Besides, hanging out with our friends last night and today really makes it all worthwhile. I don't think they'd let me play with them if I stopped racing! :)

  • Comments: Had fun at this race; great venue. Spectator friendly. Great to see all the BT'ers plus my lovely wife supporting me. Of course this race was put on by my coach, so I can't complain! This is my last triathlon of the season until IMAZ next April. Scary.

  • Comments: For my first triathlon, I had a really great experience. Granted I have a lot to learn and my butt got kicked pretty good, but I still had a lot of fun while participating. Everyone I met or came across was very encouraging and people were always cheering each other on to make it and do well. A great experience like this makes me want to continue with triathlons and build my way up to a better time and meet a lot more people.
