Comments: This is one of my favorite races ( I do it almost every year) as it is so flat. I was 5 min slower than the Madison Marathon this past fall (11/8/15) and that was a super hilly course, so I wonder if the lack of hills is actually a detriment as the same muscles get used the entire time. I did take 11 minutes off of last year's time, though. We had perfect weather--55 at start and 70s by finish, mild humidity. I would have liked more stations to hand out ice--they had it in coolers at almost all but only a few had it ready in cups to hand out (don't want to have to stop and wait). At mile 24 there was this awesome lady who had set up a table and had Ibuprofen, root beer, diet coke, chocolate, water, and who knows what else. The root beer was exactly what I needed to get through the last 2 miles as I didn't want another Gu--thank you nice lady!
