• Description: A Tradition Begins...
  Pu'uwai Canoe Club held its first ever sprint triathlon fundraising event November 9, 2008. It was a beautiful day in Poipu on the south shore of Kauai with 82 entries for the event. The race started off with a 500 meter swim, followed by a 14 mile bike, and a 5K run. Participants included individuals completing all legs of the race, and teams having different members completing each leg. The turn out was impressive, including athletes ranging from the experienced to the novice. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the experience of Kauai's only triathlon. A huge "Mahalo" to all those who participated in the race, as well as those working tirelessly in the background to make this a fun and successful event.
