• Description: Welcome to the 4th annual staging of SwimAthy... the warm up race to TriAthy that has become an event on its own! This year’s event takes place on Sunday 30th May 2010.
  
  In previous years, SwimAthy was a more informal affair serving mainly as a practice swim for the popular TriAthy event (see www.triathy.com)
  
  Now, SwimAthy has found legs of its own and is now formalised as a proper event under the governance of SWIM IRELAND.
  
  SwimAthy takes place at Athy, Co. Kildare within the River Barrow which runs through the heart of the town. The event will consist of two races:
  
  SwimAthy 1500
  and
  SwimAthy 750
  
  The ‘1500’ race will involve a 1,100m downstream section with the final 400m upstream. The ‘750’ race will be entirely downstream
